The GEMS Experience - Be a Part of It

Prior to the day that GEMS will 'Go-Live', several activities will be occurring to us and the environment that we work in. It can sometimes be difficult to keep track of all the activities that need to be done where and when. Provided below are useful tips on what to do in any GEMS event and how we can enhance our GEMS experience.

What to do in any GEMS event

Events such as mass briefings, training workshops or road shows will occur in our department or ministry. It can be difficult to understand and remember everything that will be presented in those events therefore it is encouraged that we use the P.L.A.N (Prepare, Listen, Ask, Note) method whenever you attend a GEMS event.

Prepare, Listen, Ask, Note

Prepare yourself for the event.

  • Always have a notebook and pen ready

  • Arrive early to find a seat with a good view point

  • Remember to silent your mobile phones to avoid interruptions

Listen carefully

  • Listen and pay attention during the presentation

  • Make a conscious effort to understand the key messages being presented

Ask questions

  • At the end of any presentation, take the opportunity to have your questions answered.

  • Listen to questions asked by others to avoid the presenter from repeating the answer.

  • Ask again until you are happy that your questions have been answered.
*Tip! If your questions have not been answered or if you have any other concerns or issues with regards to GEMS, feel free to email them to gems@psd.gov.bn.

Note useful and important information

  • Note down what you feel is important and useful to you

  • Note down questions that you would like to ask and try not to interrupt the presenter
