Center - Online Help for GEMS Users
The GEMS Help Center is a useful
link where we can access a range of online performance
support tools that are quick and easy to use. Situated on
the homepage of the GEMS web-based system, it contains a
library of self-help Quick Guides, CBT (Computer Based
Training) programs and a useful FAQ (Frequently Asked
Question) section.
This article quickly helps us
understand
Accessing GEMS Help Center
The GEMS Help Center resides in the
web-based system, therefore we will need to sign into GEMS first. To sign into GEMS, we will need a GEMS User ID, which has been
set as similar to our Identity Card Number. It is
important to note that the
systematic structure of GEMS security levels ensure that each
User ID gives appropriate access to perform the functions
required for our position. Therefore, it is our
responsibility to keep our password confidential at all times.
Provided
below are the steps on Signing Into GEMS:

1. Launch the Microsoft
Internet Explorer web browser.

2. Enter the
GEMS URL (http://www.gems.gov.bn)
at the address bar on the top of the browser window and
press ENTER.

3. Enter the User ID and Password.

4.
Click on the button
(or press the ENTER key) to log in to GEMS. The home
page is displayed.
5. Click on the link GEMS Help Center.

Features of the GEMS Help Center
Inside the GEMS Help Center, there are several performance support
tools that we can use to help us understand how to use the system
better.

1. Quick
Guides Library
This section provides us with a library
of quick guides that have been designed as quick-reference job
aids for users on how to manage and perform GEMS online
processes. These quick guides are downloadable in PDF format.

1. To
access the Quick Guides page, click on the Quick Guides
link.
2. Select a module, the
role, and finally the Quick Guide name, and click Go.

3. To save the Quick Guide
to our computer, point the mouse to the selected
document and right click. Click on the Save Target As.

|
|
4. We can rename the
document as desired. Click Save.

|
|
5. Once the download is
complete, click on the Open button to view the Quick
Guide.

2. CBT (Computer Based Training)
This particular
tool is similar to the Quick Guides in a way that it provides us
the step-by-step guide on how to perform certain activities in
GEMS. However, CBT offers a more interactive learning experience
through its four playback modes.

1. To access the Computer
Based Training page, click on the CBT link.
2. Select a Process.

3. A new window will
appear. Click the
button to expand the
activity.
4. Click on the desired
process.
5. Select a Playback Mode
according to what we prefer.

function enables us to learn by watching an
animated demonstration of tasks.

This
function allows us to try performing GEMS
tasks with the help of certain instructions
on how to perform them.

function acts as an exercise which tests our
ability to perform GEMS activities without
any given instructions.

function opens a page which will coach us
throughout performing our tasks in the real
GEMS environment. |

This section
comprised of a series of compiled questions that have often been
raised by users. Here, we will be able to search for any
questions that are similar to the issues that was encountered.
