About GEMS: GEMS Project Leadership

 

The GEMS Project is spearheaded by the Public Service Department (Jabatan Perkhidmatan Awam - JPA) under the sponsorship of the Prime Minister's Office.
The governance of the Project is under the leadership and guidance of the GEMS Steering Committee, chaired by Yang Mulia Dato Paduka Haji Abdul Wahab bin Juned,  Deputy Minister at the Prime Minister’s Office.

GEMS Implementation Working Group (IWG)

 

To monitor the project progress, the GEMS Implementation Working Group (IWG) was formed on the 6th September 2008. Members of the IWG span across both public and private sector organisations, comprising key stakeholders of the GEMS project.

GEMS Project Implementation Team

Several organisations will work together in the GEMS Project as outlined below:

  • Prime Minister’s Office (PMO): Sponsor of the GEMS Project

  • GEMS Agencies: Provide organisational context and rationale as well as participate in GEMS Project activities

  • GEMS Management Office (MO): Represent the project management that manages day to day operations of project and manage the contract for the GEMS project

  • BAG Networks: Act as prime contractor in the delivery of GEMS project

 

The GEMS project organisation structure comprises of 2 components:

  • The Project Governance Structure - Provides the overall strategic direction and oversight over the course of the entire project.

  • The Project Delivery Structure -  Comprises individual teams responsible for delivering specific outputs.
