About GEMS: What GEMS means to us

GEMS will change the way we interact with the Brunei Civil Service significantly. How GEMS will eventually affect us depends on the current role and responsibilities we have in our ministry.

As Human Resource Administration staff, GEMS will cut down significant manual work by automating various processes, and the work flow will be routed within the system rather than being physically moved from one department to another through normal mail. We will be able to spend more time working on strategic HR functions rather than manual tasks, and be able to push Brunei’s Civil Service HR Administration forward with proven best practices.

As the general government employee, the system will allow us to track our applications, performance appraisals, and eventually plan our own learning and development. We will benefit largely from it when we notice that HR transactions take less time to process. In addition we can always check the status of a transaction through GEMS.

Visit the GEMS Functionalities page to know more about what types of functionalities GEMS will introduce to the civil service.
